You look really nice, where did you get that outfit?
Have you seen any movies of late? What did you think of them?
What kind of music do you like?
What sports do you like?
What's you favourite restaurant?
Where are you from?
Where did you go to school/college?
What do you normally do on a weekend?

These should get you started, hopefully on the right foot. Remember, don't bombard your date with questions - wait for answers and let them lead into a conversation. And if you can do a bit of background research on your date before hand, you've got a winner!
