Monsoon Magic
"The meeting of the earth and the clouds is a kind of love-making." - Chasing the Monsoon, Alexander Frater 1990.
"The sky on every side is shrouded by rain-clouds Which wear the beauty of deep lotus petals, And here look like heaps of made-up eye salve, and there Possess the charm of breasts of women with child." - Indian poet, Kalidasa 100 B.C.
The Monsoons enhance sexual intimacy! How you ask?
Every one of our inherited scriptures and tradition reveal the close association of nature with acts of sexual intimacy. The monsoons are the time when birds and animals seek their partners, and that is the period symbolically deemed as conducive for love. One of our epic manuals on sexual intimacies, in one of their verses explains it as... "When heavy rain-clouds darken the sky and great heavenly birds with wonderful wings streak across, the heart yearns for company". This period is also depicted as the dancing peacock that brings joy to the thirsty earth and sun-parched men. The sacred text of Ananga Ranga suggests that during thunder, lightning and rain - women long for sexual intimacy and are most easily satisfied too.
During the monsoons the grass is virgin, the leaves, fresh and untouched. And there is an inviting cool breeze that evokes desire, and as the sun plays an enticing game of silhouettes with clouds, the time is ripe to yield to passion. Time for tender touches, warm embraces...
Traditional texts also talk about the monsoon as being the best season for rejuvenation and awakening. During this period, the atmosphere remains dust-free and cool, opening the pores of the body to the maximum, making it most receptive to sensations and the intimacy provided by sexual activity.
Great sex actually begins outside the bedroom. Sensational sex occurs when one begins to grasp the purpose of creation, the origins of our soul, the meaning of our lives, and the "erogenous zones" of our cosmos.
This wisdom reveals how our most intense moments of eroticism and intimacy reverberate throughout the Cosmos-the way a small stone tossed into still, deep water causes ripples that radiate far outward from the original point of impact.
